His magnum opus has featured so many plotlines and narratives that it becomes difficult for fans to choose their favorite. However, it has never been difficult for Oda. He has already picked his favorite scene from the One Piece story, and the shocking thing is that this scene doesn’t even feature the major characters like Luffy or Zoro.

A few years ago, Oda did an interview where he revealed his top three favorite scenes in the entire One Piece series. The first one was from the Wano arc, the second one was from the Sabaody Archipelago arc, and the final one was from the Skypiea arc.

Eiichiro Oda’s Favorite Scene in One Piece

Oda’s 2020 interview with Arashi was translated and shared by @sandman_AP on X (Formerly Twitter). In the interview, Oda revealed that his favorite scene from One Piece is the opening scene of the Wano arc, which revealed the flower capital of Wano to the fans and reflected the beauty of the island that was almost destroyed by Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi.

The Flower Capital was the most beautiful place in Wano, and Oda starting the arc with a major focus on the region reflected its importance in the Wano arc. Initially, it was ruled by Kozuki Sukiyaki, but after Kaido and Orochi’s deception, the region came under the rule of Orochi and was the only place in the entire Wano country that prospered.

Wano holds a special place in the hearts of Oda and One Piece fans. Before the start of this arc, Oda confessed multiple times that he was excited to draw this narrative, and it certainly lived up to the expectations of fans. It not only revealed many new interesting aspects of the One Piece story, but it was also deemed by fans as one of the best arcs of all time.

Wano’s Opening Was Not the Only Favorite Scene of Eiichiro Oda

During the interview, Eiichiro Oda confessed that although the opening segment of Wano is his favorite scene in One Piece, there were two other scenes that come in at a close second and third in the manga creator’s list. The second favorite scene was a hilarious conversation between Robin and Usopp during the beginning of the Sabaody Archipelago arc.

As the Straw Hat crew reaches the Sabaody Archipelago island, Robin discovers a sap that is released from the floor of the island. As she touches it, she realizes it is sticky and wipes it off of Usopp’s pants, which enrages the Sniper of the crew. This scene holds a special place for Oda because it gives a sense of realism to the fantastical story of One Piece.

The third and final favorite scene of Oda in One Piece is the Campfire scene from the Skypiea arc. Before the beginning of the war against Enel, the Straw Hat Pirates decided to enjoy their moment on the island, so they held a grand party where they ate and celebrated around a campfire. Oda revealed that he drew the entire Skypiea arc for this specific scene.
