One Piece fans are disappointed about Eiichiro Oda’s involvement in Zoro’s novel.

SUMMARY

Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, is one of the series’ most popular characters.
The Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates is receiving his own novel, One Piece, ZORO: Prologue Sasakaze.
While the future novel will highlight Zoro’s exploits, it will not be overseen by Oda, which has disappointed many fans.

The swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, Roronoa Zoro, is one of the most popular characters in the series. His popularity stems from his extreme talent as a swordsman, his cool attitude, and his loyalty towards his crew, especially his captain, Monkey D. Luffy. Besides Killer, Zoro is the only member of the worst generation who is not a captain.

Fans have loved Zoro since the beginning of the series and have wanted to know more about the character. However, even after 1100+ chapters, very little has been explored about the character by Eiichiro Oda. Fans expected him to explain more about his lineage in the Wano arc but were robbed of this information because of the complexity of the arc.

But there is a chance that fans might learn about Zoro and his past. This is because the Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates is getting a separate novel called One Piece, ZORO: Prologue Sasakaze. While the upcoming novel will feature the exploits of Zoro, it will not be supervised by Oda, which has disappointed a lot of fans.

One Piece Novel Zoro Will Explore Zoro’s Past

One Piece novel ZORO: Prologue Sasakaze will be a part of the One Piece Magazine Special Feature: The Wings—Zoro and Sanji. The novel will be written by Jun Esaka, who is known for writing the One Piece novels Heroines and Odyssey. It will explore Zoro’s journey before he became a pirate.

Prior to exploring the seas with Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates, Roronoa Zoro was a famous bounty hunter in the East Blue. He was known and recognized by a lot of other characters, and he infamously got the title of Pirate Hunter Zoro, which is still prevailing. The novel will most likely talk about his journey as a bounty hunter.

Zoro is probably the most liked Straw Hat Crew member besides Luffy. However, his lineage and his entire history have been kept secret from the fans. Although this mystery adds an element to Zoro’s characters, fans definitely want to know more about how Zoro became a strong swordsman and what kind of problems he faced before joining the crew.

One Piece Fans Are Disappointed About Eiichiro Oda’s Involvement in Zoro’s Novel

When the news about the novel first came out, fans were excited that they were finally getting some details about Zoro’s past that had not been already told in the One Piece manga. Additionally, it was assumed that the novel would be supervised by Eiichiro Oda, even though he would not write it completely.

However, it was recently discovered that Oda might not be involved in the novel. This has led fans to believe that the events of the novel might not be canon.

As soon as fans found out about this, they expressed their frustration about getting a Zoro novel that would not be mentored by Oda.

While Oda not being involved in Zoro’s novel is disappointing for fans, it doesn’t change the fact that a new perspective on Zoro’s past will surely be exciting for Zoro fans. Also, if the novel performs well and attracts a huge audience, there is a chance that One Piece mangaka might make it canon after all.
