Josie Gibson halted Friday’s This Morning to bring a “big story” to viewers. During the Morning Views segment, Josie and her co-host Craig Doyle discussed the latest news headlines with Gyles Brandreth and Tom Swarbrick.

However, the announcement wasn’t about one of the main news headlines – it was about Turkish Delight being revealed as the UK’s worst chocolate bar.

“Thank you, Gyles, I have got a big story here,” the ITV host paused before adding: “Britain’s worst chocolate bars have been revealed.”

After a dramatic drum roll, Josie revealed: “It’s Turkish Delight. My nan would be turning in her grave if she knew this.

“I always had to bring her a Turkish Delight around to my nan if I wanted to visit.”

Gyles chipped in: “Do you know, when I went to Istanbul I was known as English delight.”

“By who? By no one? Yourself,” Tom joked. “He just called himself that, didn’t he?”

Gyles burst into laughter as he agreed: “You’re quite right, some of the stuff I make up as I go along.”

Turning his attention to the chocolate item, he said: “The reason is, the chocolate coating on the outside is fine, but when you get inside it is like a pink, raw, wobbly sausage.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Craig interrupted the segment as they discussed the latest developments in the Southport stabbing case.

Three young girls died after a 17-year-old male attacked a Taylor Swift-themed dance club, with more people injured and several children hospitalised.

As the ITV host discussed the “tragic” events, he paused to bring some “good news”. He explained that two children injured in the knife attack had now left Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

“We do have, in a tragic, tragic story, some good news coming out of Southport this morning. Some of the children have been released from hospital,” Craig shared.

Gyles intervened: “Which is fantastic. The only good news to be seen out of this is first of all the heroism of some of the people who were involved who were trying to help save the children.

“Then the fact that the hospitals have been able to help, and two have come out of hospital today, which is fantastic news. It’s also news, of course, that the suspect has now been named in what was an unusual court move.”

He added: “The reason he was named even though he’s 17 and therefore underage was because the judge came to the conclusion that so much ill-informed rumour had gone around that was fuelling this public unrest.”
