Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas has opened up about the relentless abuse she has faced.

During Sunday night’s final, Sydnie beat 10 other contestants after performing her own rendition of Over The Rainbow and became the first solo female contestant without a dog to win. But less than 24-hours after her victory, the 28-year-old faced claims that the ITV programme was rigged to help her win.

Some viewers claimed there were “tell-tale signs” that Sydnie was always going to win. “Am I the only person who’s noticed that Sydnie Christmas is among the last to perform? They’re definitely fixing it for her to win #BGT,” said one X user. While a second penned: “Let’s see if they put Sydnie on last to make sure she gets more votes. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

“[The fix rumours are] just not true,” she said. Sydnie went on to add: “Everything has been genuine and I’ve said my truth so saying it’s not is questioning me. There’s nothing that breaks my heart more than to see [the doubt].” Speaking to Metro, Sydnie said that the rumours made her “feel really crappy”.

The Kent native continued: “It’s soul-destroying but there’s nothing I can do to change their minds so I’ve had to separate myself. I’d love to speak to them but they are so angry so there’s nothing more I can do.” But after winning a life-changing £250,000, Sydnie hasn’t planned how she is going to splash her cash just yet.

Speaking on This Morning to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, the shocked singer said: “It’s not even about the money, this is just amazing” to which host, Ben, pointed out: “Well, you haven’t seen it in your bank account yet!” with Sydnie adding: “No, you sort of can’t

believe it!” Talking about what she’ll spend her cash on, the winner said: “Not a clue!” before adding: “I loved my singing coach on BGT, she was amazing and got me through that. I said to her: ‘I can now afford you once a week!’ so I said that to her” with Ben asking: “So the first thing is booking a load of lessons?”

Sydnie replied: “Yeah, absolutely! She’s made me in like two months a better singer than I did when I went to college for three years, she’s just amazing and I just love her.” Addressing performing last, she told the pair: “I was last, I was like: ‘No, why am I last? I’ve got to sit

through it!’ so I was pacing. I was watching it, I was clapping, I went in to watch Innocent [Masuku], absolutely amazing, made me sob, I had to get my make-up sorted out. I was like: ‘How am I going to go on now?’ it was so good, everyone was amazing.”
