Kaye Adams has been forced to take a break from her presenting duties after a bout of ill health.

The presenter was due to appear on BBC Radio Scotland and Loose Women this week.

However, the usually chipper star appeared on social media to reveal she was suffering from a string of issues including a croaky voice. Kaye did reassure fans that she hopes to be feeling better in the “next couple of days”.

Taking to Instagram, Kaye said: “Well I was really looking forward to getting back onto the radio tomorrow morning, but unfortunately I woke up sounding as if I had been eating woodbine all night.”

The star stopped speaking to cough before adding: “So, sadly not to be. I’m mainlining Jakemans so hopefully it’ll get better over the next couple of days.”

The 61-year-old Loose Women star hosts her self-named radio show on BBC Scotland in the mornings, from 9am. Kaye gets to the heart of the news, offering the listeners the opportunity to have their say.

Earlier this year, Kaye shared that she had experienced a “traumatic” 48-hours while filming for ITV’s Loose Women. Taking to Instagram in January, she explained what had happened.

Speaking into the camera, the presenter said: “I have had the most traumatic 48 hours. Here’s a little Sunday story for you.

She said: “Then I had to go to get an audiogram and I went to Boots in Glasgow. Paula, thank you, you were amazing, absolutely incredible, thank you.”

“And she did an examination. I’m embarrassed to say this because my head was going to some terrible, terrible tumour. I’m very melodramatic and Paula pulls out the biggest bit of wax you have ever seen!”
