Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls and Susanna Reid were left open-mouthed on Tuesday as Lorraine Kelly used cheeky language during a fiery rant about bins.

Viewers will recall that GMB always goes over to the Lorraine studio to find out what is coming up on the show at 9am. During Tuesday’s segment, chat got onto the need for more public bins amid an increase in littering, which had been a hot topic on the latest episode of the show.

Lorraine admitted that lack of bins and litter “drives me crazy”, adding: “It really really annoys me!” This prompted Susanna to say: “Lorraine, how could anyone argue against more bins? I don’t understand it!” pointing at Ed, who believes people shouldn’t litter in the first place.

Defending himself, Ed said: “I’m not arguing against bins, Laura agrees with me, people should take responsibility for picking up rubbish and putting it in their bin. You can’t have someone wheeling a wheelie bin behind you so it’s there for you!”

In a cheeky response, Lorraine then declared: “We’re not talking about wheelie bins though, we’re not talking about giant bins. Also, you’re right, when anyone goes for a walk or anything to take your c**p back with you, thank you very much indeed!”

The word “c**p” left Ed and Susanna open-mouthed as they started laughing over Lorraine’s fiery thoughts on littering. Ed added: “Thank you! At last Lorraine, some sanity!”

It comes as Lorraine had another fiery response on Monday as she slammed Midsomer Murders’ new trigger warning for episodes. The hit ITV detective show has been on the air since 1997 and is renowned for its captivating blend of mystery, drama, and quintessential English charm. The show initially followed the investigations of Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles), and later his cousin, Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon).

However, it has now been reported that Midsomer Murders has slapped trigger warnings onto episodes with ITV’s steaming hub, ITV X, warning: “Contains some scenes of violence”. Talking about the update on Monday’s Lorraine, host Lorraine wasn’t impressed as she exclaimed: “You know how people get trigger warnings, I know sometimes people have to, of course I understand that but Midsomer Murders, really, really?”

Lorraine added: “We know [there will be distressing scenes], it’s called Midsomer Murders. We know there will be a murder or even more than one! Saying there might be violence in Midsomer Murders is like saying today, watching Wimbledon, there may well be bouncing balls!”
