The latest series of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) is now well underway after having launched last month and it’s almost time for the live semi-finals of the talent competition.

The ITV show returned to our screens in April, with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli back on the judging panel for more auditions. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly remain as its hosts for the new series.

Various acts have already been showcased on BGT in the five episodes that have aired since the premiere just weeks ago. Another round of auditions, which were filmed earlier this year, are set to be broadcast over the coming weekend.

Auditionees performed for the judging panel in the hope of progressing to the semi-finals, which are typically broadcast live. That stage of the competition will be followed by the final, during which the latest winner will be announced.

Five episodes of the new series of BGT have been broadcast so far, with them each featuring auditions. And this week’s episode, which is scheduled to air on Saturday night, is due to showcase even more auditions. It’s yet to be confirmed if there will then be any other episodes before the semi-finals.

Dates for the next stage of the talent contest have been shared by the Applause Store, which is a third party ticket website that has previously been promoted by ITV for some of its shows. It states that the live semi-finals will be held at the Eventim Apollo in London in less than two weeks.

It lists May 27 to 30 as the dates for the live semi-finals. Applause Store, which states that it “operates a completely free ticket service” notes that the only May 29 has availability, as the other dates are “fully booked”. It’s however unclear if that’s the end of the semi-finals or when the final will air.

Will Ant be back for them?

It was announced this week that co-host Ant welcomed his first child with his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, over the weekend. The news was shared by the presenter, who is also a step-parent to Anne-Marie’s two daughters from a previous relationship, in a post on Instagram on Tuesday.
