LOVE Island’s Hugo has broken his silence on a supposedly ‘secret connection’ to a huge Towie star.

The ITV2 reality TV personality was recently dumped from the long-running dating competition.

Now Hugo, 24, is out of the Love Island villa, he is fully lifting the lid on his impressive showbiz connections.

When he first entered the popular show, some fans couldn’t help but notice that he might have had a celebrity fan.

His Instagram profile seemed to have Ella Rae Wise within his followers list.

And it seemed that he hit that button right back as soon as he clocked the star of The Only Way Is Essex.

But according to Hugo, it seems that the pair are only friends via the internet.

When asked if they had a previously unknown connection, he seemed to put cold water on the idea.

He told Closer Magazine: “We don’t… Me and Ella from TOWIE we do not know each other.”

Confirming the lack of interaction between the pair, he added: “I think she must have followed me when I went in the villa but there’s nothing there.”

But Jess White was not so sure, as she clapped back: “And you followed her back did ya?”

But in response, he joked: “I can’t remember now. My finger slipped.”

Ella herself might not be so available either, as it appears that she is back together with her Essex co-star, Dan Edgar.

They initially got together during the infamous cast trip to Bali earlier this year, although their relationship later fizzled out.

She previously told The Sun: “When we got home from Bali and when we’d finished filming, I’d still see him and we were pretty close.

“But it did get to the part where communication was lost massively and we were playing things down so much and not actually being 100 per cent truthful with our feelings.”
