However, Dermot will be replaced by Joel Dommett on Monday and Tuesday next week.
The Masked Singer host impressed during a brief stint on the show last summer.
He even reckoned he would have been the perfect replacement for Phillip Schofield — because he knows how to “not be an a***hole”.
Schofield quit the ITV daytime show in May after admitting to an affair with a younger aide.
He was eventually replaced by Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
Joel is now making a return to host the ITV daytime show alongside Alison Hammond.
“I’m going to miss you,” Alison told Dermot in a backstage video after their last show together.
He replied: “It’s only for two days, Monday and Tuesday.”
Alison continued: “OK, only two days and I’ve got Joel Dommett which will be brilliant.”
Confirming the news, Joel wrote on Instagram: “I’m gonna be jumping in and hosting This Morning on Monday and Tuesday with the beaut Alison Hammond. Woooo!”
