Neighbours of controversial WAG Lauryn Goodman have spoken of their astonishment at learning of her jaw-dropping maintenance demands from former lover Kyle Walker – including buying her £2.4 designer mansion.

The blinds at the striking house with sweeping views towards the Brighton coastline remained firmly closed today – while the £70,000 Mercedes SUV which Goodman told a judge was the only car she felt safe to drive was parked in the driveway.

And if Goodman was home – she had been seen in the town earlier in the day – she wasn’t rushing to answer the video intercom to discuss the case.

But neighbours in the quiet, tree-lined street are talking of little else – still astonished by the list of demands the mother-of-two had demanded from the England and Manchester City star revealed by the High Court.

One neighbour told us: ‘It really is just mind boggling that she has the nerve to ask for so much.

‘You would think it was enough that she lives in one of the most exclusive and expensive streets around here but she does seem to determined to get all she can.

‘I rarely see her and have nothing to do with her, but we all know who she is and where the money is coming from.’

Builders working on the renovation of a house said they had been equally stunned to learn about the list of demands she told the High Court was necessary.

This included a £120,000 for walk in wardrobes and £33,000 for an air conditioning unit for the modern detached home – and the suggestion he should spend £30,000 on an astroturf football pitch because she felt her one year old daughter showed sufficient promise as a footballer that she hoped she might one day play for England’s Lionesses.

‘I’m no fan of Walker, but that is seriously not on and she is only doing this as she knows he earns millions,’ said a heavily-built construction worker who did not want to be named. ‘She is just doing this because he’s rich and famous’

Many of the original homes in the road were bungalows.

But most have been levelled in recent years by developers and sleek glass front mini mansions such as Goodman’s built in their place.

Her five-bedroom house is set over four floors and in the estate agents marketing it was described as ‘an incredible family home’ with an emphasis on ‘lifestyle, entertaining.’

One neighbour, a supporter of a Premier League team closest to the Goodman home, said he had never seen Walker at the house.

‘She doesn’t mix with us, but as she is a young mother would not expect her to.

‘There was a bit of a buzz when she moved in but have not spoken to her.

‘Reading about the money she wants he can afford it. If the money is for the children, but if it is just for her then I can see why he went to court and tried to get it cut back.’

Another neighbour said they rarely saw Goodman.

‘We have nothing to do with her’ said the mum.

‘I don’t follow gossip about footballers so no idea who she is – but some of what she’s asked for seems over the top’

Other neighbours said they were concerned all the publicity surrounding Goodman would cause disruption to their mostly quiet road.
