CAT Deeley and Ben Shephard came to blows on This Morning during a heated debate about women and housework.

The duo, who have recently taken over as the ITV show’s main hosts, became fired up with each other while discussing the topic.

Cat, 47, got so angry that she pointed her finger at 49-year-old Ben, while also gesturing wildly with her arms in the air.

He, meanwhile, branded Cat a “control freak” and told her to “relax” as she reeled off the list of things she reminds her husband – Irish comedian Patrick Kielty – to do each day.

As tempers between the presenters flared, Cat demanded to “unleash” guest panelist Vanessa Feltz, 62, who immediately waded into the debate.

The trio, who were also joined by 45-year-old journalist and broadcaster Camilla Tominey, were discussing a report that claimed ‘women do an hour more housework than men’ each day.

Cat, Vanessa and Camilla quickly remarked on how they end up doing most of the parenting responsibilities at home, to which Ben replied: “I think it is empowering.

“We are empowering you to maintain your strength and position…”

Looking riled, Cat jumped in: “Before I come to work, I literally have Post-It notes at six o’clock in the morning. Like this… stick them on everything. ‘Don’t forget the violin!'”

But Ben replied: “That’s because you’re a control freak. Just let it happen. Just relax. Just relax.”

Cat called out to Camilla: “Unleash, Feltz! Unleash her, unleash her!”

Vanessa then recalled a time when she had to travel to Chicago, America, to co-host The Jerry Springer Show.

She revealed: “I had to make and label every single meal for my whole trip, as if it was a holiday or a pleasure cruise I was going on. It was for work!”

Ben flatly asked her: “Do you think anybody would have starved had you not made those labels?”

Vanessa shot back: “I had to!”

Ben told her: “YOU had to.” He added: “It’s funny how we all manage to cope even when we don’t get those Post-Its or those list.

“We do somehow muddle though. It might not be as efficient, it might not be as organised, it might not be as nutritious…”

The foursome finished the debate with a smile, but their row didn’t go unnoticed with fans.

Taking Ben’s side, one even wrote on X: “Wow, Ben getting bullied by the women #ThisMorning.”

Ben and Cat were unveiled as the new hosts of This Morning in December.

They made their debut in January with the hope that slumped viewing figures would do a dramatic turnaround.

The pair were tipped to be the show’s saviours following Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s departures last year.

However, ratings are unfortunately continuing to sink as TV lovers choose to tune into streaming services instead.
