Britain’s Got Talent crowned its winner tonight – as 11 acts performed once more.

Tonight, as the 17th series of the ITV show drew to a close, the audience crowned their winner and Sydnie Christmas took home the incredible £250,000 cash prize as well as a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance later this year.

Speaking after her win, she said: “I cannot believe the amount of love I’ve felt since it aired. It’s absolutely – oh my god. I am overwhelmed with love and I wish for one day that everyone feels the way I do. It’s amazing, thank you so much.”

The four judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli – were thrilled by the decision of the public. All four of them might have given their opinions tonight, but that didn’t matter as it was purely down to the audience’s votes.

The 11 finalists impressed viewers throughout the auditions and also during semi-final week, which saw some big moments as well as some awkward blunders. The final was no different, with the usual crazy moments we’ve come to love from Britain’s Got Talent.

Tonight, viewers were also treated to a performance from the cast of Mamma Mia! from the West End musical, with Stevie Doc and Tobias Turley – who won the ITV reality show Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream – now a part of the cast as Sophie and Sky.

The Britain’s Got Talent winner will end up taking home a huge cash prize of £250,000 and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance, which will take place in November at the iconic Royal Albert Hall.

However, the win was subjected to ‘fix’ claims after spotting a ‘clue’ that Sydnie was going to win. Some fans believe that Sydnie performing last would mean that she would win. One wrote: “Biggest fix there is. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent,” whilst a second added: “If Sydney wins it’s such a fix. So much favoritism all series #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.” A third added: “I’m sorry, but I can just see this being a fix. Sydnie was probably going win from day one. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”
