Alison Hammond dropped a bombshell on This Morning viewers when she revealed who’s stepping in for Dermot O’Leary next week. The dynamic duo, who are regular Friday faces on the ITV show, have been at the helm all week, filling in for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

After a quick link to the Loose Women set, Alison announced: “I’ll be back with you on Monday where I am going to be hosting alongside Joel Dommett.”

Dermot, feigning dismay, buried his face in his hands while Alison went on: “I am going to be taking you to the seaside with Phil Vickery.”

“I am going to miss you,” she said, turning to Dermot with a smile.

Friday’s edition of This Morning was a rollercoaster, as Alison and Dermot took the show outdoors, leading to a series of mishaps. Alison nearly let slip a swear word, and Dermot even strolled off the set during one part, reports the Express.

The atmosphere got a tad uncomfortable when they were discussing with guests Gyles Brandreth and Isla Traquair about workplace habits.

Kicking off the conversation, Alison mentioned that a third of workers like to “take time out” in the loo.

“I actually do this quite often,” she admitted. “When you need a break. There’s a new survey out that found a third of employees visit the loo just to take a little breather.”

“Oh yeah,” chimed in Dermot, as Alison elaborated: “You know when everyone is doing your head in, you go in the toilet, sit on the toilet for a bit…and you know, just chill out.”

Before Alison could complete her thought, Dermot abruptly got up and left. “Dermot has gone,” noted Alison as Isla burst into giggles.

As Dermot attempted to make his return, she commented: “He tried.”
