“Cap!”: Mike Perry Ropes In His Wife to Prove a Point as Jake Paul Promises MMA Rematch

Not very long after his split with ex-wife Daniel Nickerson, who had accused Mike Perry of verbal threats and cheating, the former UFC fighter’s relationship with now-wife Latory Perry became public. After fathering a son with Latory, Mike had faced Jake Paul in a sparring session which was witnessed not only by Paul’s coach BJ Flores but also by Perry’s wife. In this regard, as Paul hoped to rematch Perry in MMA, the former UFC fighter jeered at ‘The Problem Child,’ referring to what his wife had witnessed back in 2021!

In 2021, Jake Paul was preparing to face Tyron Woodley in the ring and was subsequently in need of experienced sparring partners. This is where Perry, who was shifting from MMA to bare-knuckle boxing at that time, came to Paul’s aid. Although he was an influencer who had just started boxing, as per Paul’s trainer, BJ Flores, “Jake got the better of him [Perry] every round.” So, knowing his opponent’s capacity, and certain of his victory, ahead of the fight, Jake is already planning a rematch!

“When I beat Mike Perry in boxing, f*** it, we could run it in MMA. I want an MMA fight. I mean the Smart Cage is literally right there. And I think once I start MMA, my wrestling background is going to come out and I think I’ll be a very dangerous MMA fighter as well,” said Jake Paul. Calling his hands “trisexual,” Paul looked forward to meeting Perry inside a cage. However, Perry thought Paul was presenting a pack of lies. Why?

As per Perry, if Jake Paul is that daring, he should go for bare-knuckle boxing. “Cap! Cap! Why not bare-knuckle? Why not boxing bare-knuckle? I’ll take Jake’s back. Wrestling and jiu-jitsu are not just something that just you keep in your back pocket,” Mike Perry responded angrily, after watching the clip of Jake Paul making the above claims.

And referring to the sparring they had, he added, “I asked my wife [Latory Perry] last night, ‘You were there. What did you see that day that we sparred?’ She said she saw me have him up on the ropes. She said she felt like the team was protecting him.” At this, while Mike Perry feels confident, Jake Paul’s trainer thinks ‘The Problem Child’ can stop Mike early.

Latory Perry may vouch for her husband’s ability to knock out Jake Paul. But, BJ Flores, the trainer of Jake Paul, feels the road ahead for Mike is infested with thorns. Like Perry’s wife Latory, Flores was also there when the two fighters sparred. And while Flores acknowledges that Mike is “as tough as a nail,” he does not see Perry out-performing Jake in the ring. “I just don’t know how he’s going to be able to stand up to Jake with 10-ounce gloves and no headgear,” said BJ Flores.

“I think if Mike Perry is aggressive, it’s a very very short night. I don’t see how he stands there with Jake.
