Prince Harry ‘profoundly regrets rift he & Meghan Markle have made’ but ‘has no one else to blame’, claims royal expert

Royal expert Jennie Bond reveals why the path to making things right again between King Charles and Prince Harry is a ‘rocky one’

PRINCE Harry must “profoundly regret the rift he and Meghan have caused” and has “no-else to blame,” a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, will return to the UK tomorrow to attend a ceremony marking the Invictus Games Foundation’s 10th Anniversary.

The star-studded event will be Prince Harry’s first time in Britain since his sister-in-law Princess Kate revealed to the world that she’s receiving treatment for cancer on March 22.

Meanwhile, Harry, whose wife Meghan Markle and children Archie and Lillibet are expected to remain in the US, last spoke with his father for 30 minutes at Clarence House in February, days after King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis to the world.

As Harry attends the 10-year anniversary service of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral, Charles, 75, will be just two miles away in London at the year’s first Buckingham Palace garden party, which starts from 4pm.

The explosive revelations in Harry’s book Spare include:

Meanwhile, seven times Harry was welcomed by the Royals have been revealed

However, both events will finish around 6pm, suggesting a possible reunion between the pair.

But according to royal expert Jennie Bond, Harry is likely to be feeling “rather contrite,” adding that his complaints seem very “trivial” in light of the cancer battle that both his father and sister-in-law are facing.

Speaking to OK! magazine about the family rift, Jennie insisted that Harry is not a “bad person” and was always “fun, modern and warm,” making him at one point, one of the most popular of the young royals.

However, she adds: “There must be a part of him now that profoundly regrets the rift he and Meghan have caused…he has no-one else to blame.

“The path to making things right again is a rocky one, or, indeed, a near impossible one when it comes to William and Catherine.”

The royal expert goes on to point out that while the Duke of Sussex will be making the trip overseas to celebrate the Invictus Games, it’ll be very telling to see him there without a single member of the royal family in attendance to celebrate his achievement.

“It will be a graphic illustration of what he has done to the family he still professes to love,” she adds.

It’s believed that Prince Harry is “very keen” to see his dad while he’s back in the UK.

A royal source told The Sun: “Harry is normally 5,000 miles away in California but by happy coincidence on Wednesday they will be just two miles apart.

“It’s clear he is keen to see his father as he continues his recovery and most people expect another reunion of some kind next week.”

However, the possible meeting is unlikely to include Prince William, who has been the subject of his brother’s attacks and has not spoken to him since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

William will not be in the capital on Thursday, and will be busy with engagements on Friday in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
