Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s sensational decision to quit the Royal Family has been voted Britain’s Biggest Betrayal in a bombshell new poll.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stunned the world when they announced their decision to step down as senior working royals back in January 2020. Since then, the pair have issued a number of shocking attacks against members of the Royal Family.

In a new survey of 2,000 Britons, Megxit came out top as Britain’s Biggest Betrayal with more than a quarter of the vote (26 percent). Megxit topped dramas including Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy’s Wagatha Christie and Robbie Williams leaving Take That.

The survey was carried out by Alton Towers Resort following the launch of Nemesis Reborn. The iconic coaster, formerly Nemesis, is back with a vengeance for the 2024 season after an epic multi-million pound transformation. Divisional Director at Alton Towers Resort Bianca Sammut said: “As a nation Britain is defined by its sense of fair play. That’s why we find betrayals so hard to stomach.”

She added: “From Megxit to Wagatha Christie and The Willy Wonka Experience we’re glad to have finally settled the ultimate debate over Britain’s Biggest Betrayals.”

The survey comes after one royal expert suggest Meghan has never regretted her decision to leave the Royal Family. Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “Harry’s mental health has suffered as a result of the break with his family, but Meghan never doubts her decision to stop being a full-time working royal.”

He continued: “She and Harry are both products of dysfunctional families, but being much tougher than Harry Meghan relishes the battle and feels that, having been badly treated when she was in England, she has had her revenge: the Nigeria trip made her feel as she has always wanted to feel – acknowledged as a member of the Royal family and feted as an important world figure.”

Meghan and Harry recently returned to their home in Montecito, California, following a three-day tour of Nigeria to promote the Invictus Games. The trip was criticised by some royal experts as they suggested it resembled a royal tour, despite the couple no longer being working royals.
