Janet opened up on her experience as a boss in the workplace before referring to her Loose Women co-stars as her friends.

“Actually, Denise is talking to me, she never used to,” Janet quipped as Denise replied: “I agree with you but there’s a reason for that. There have been big changes.”

Brenda told the Loose Women panellists that she saw them all as her friends: “All of you I’ve got your phone numbers and I talk to you individually.”

The presenters all agreed they were each other’s friends.

Denise then asked Janet if they were “friends” as the latter exclaimed: “You are my friend! Don’t start being neuroutic, Denise. Don’t mess it up!”

Janet continued: “If I’m honest, when I’ve been in a work situation where I’ve been the boss, you can’t be pally, you can’t have a close friend among the workforce because the other 99 percent will hate your guts and that person’s life will be made a misery in a lot of work situations.”
