“I Just Want To Knock This Old Man Out” Jake Paul Rejects Call From Boxer To Replace Mike Tyson
The highly anticipated showdown between boxing legend Mike Tyson and YouTube personality-turned-boxer Jake Paul has hit a snag as Tyson was declared medically unfit, postponing their scheduled bout to November 15. Despite this setback, the boxing world remains abuzz with speculation and challenges, including one from former UFC star Darren Till.
Till, scheduled to make his boxing debut on the undercard of the Paul vs. Tyson event, expressed his interest in facing Paul instead of his originally scheduled opponent, former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Till, known for his UFC exploits, acknowledged the financial allure of a bout with Paul and indicated his willingness to step into the ring against the controversial figure.
“I’m not going to sit here and say I wouldn’t fight him,” Till stated in an interview with talkSPORT. “You fight Jake Paul, you earn a lot of money, and this is prize fighting.” Despite his openness to the challenge, Till noted a lack of response from Paul after extending the invitation.
Meanwhile, Paul, showing sportsmanship, extended well wishes to Tyson for a speedy recovery from his health scare. However, he remains steadfast in his belief that he will emerge victorious when they eventually meet in the ring. Tyson, who hasn’t competed professionally since 2005, expressed confidence in his ability to knock out Paul, emphasizing that the fight’s postponement wouldn’t alter the outcome.
“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” Tyson remarked. “The result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”
