Eiichiro Oda needs to bring back Gecko Moria after just how much of his potential was unused despite being such a powerful character.

one-piece

On a usual basis, Eiichiro Oda takes his time in giving every One Piece character their time to shine. They get ample character growth and their power to gradually increase on a scale that doesn’t seem too rushed. The pacing may be slow at times but it also proves that he takes his time to establish the vast world of the series without much room for error.

Regardless, the series can still be tainted with many plotholes and unexplained mysteries that may or may not ever get unraveled. Despite how constructive Oda’s world may seem, there is no denying that it is not a perfect series. There are flaws that cannot be overlooked and at times even characters that do not get treated the way that they deserve to be.

Eiichiro Oda’s Unjust Treatment of Gecko Moria

Gecko Moria had been a big antagonist of One Piece for quite some time. His Devil Fruit, the Shadow Shadow Fruit made him a necromancer who commanded the shadows to create his own army of fighters. Not only that, but he was able to fight both Kaido and Blackbeard on his own.

Going up against two Yonkos isn’t a small feat yet Moria managed to do it anyways. Despite losing most of his crew in his fight against Kaido, he didn’t lose hope and kept on going no matter how bad things kept getting. Not only was he a major antagonist in various arcs, but he was also able to build his own army of shadow soldiers.

His own trauma after losing his crew led him to create an entire shadow army that wasted away a lot of what he could have achieved. Even in his fight with Luffy, the protagonist was pushed to his limit at that time, forcing him to use measures he would otherwise not have resorted to.

Many fans are speculating that because of how things ended with Gecko Moria, his status is still a mystery, making it possible for him to not only be alive but also come back. Eiichiro Oda needs to give him the spotlight because otherwise, he would be nothing more than a wasted character. He needs to unlock his potential because of how much One Piece has changed ever since Moria was introduced.

Luffy and Moria went to something eerily similar with the latter even acknowledging how the Straw Hat Pirates would become just like him one day with how they look down upon him. Had Jimbei not helped Luffy after Ace’s death, things could have been just as grim for the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.

As of now, the treatment that Moria has endured needs some form of upliftment to make him the character he potentially exudes to become. After losing his title as a Warlord, not only was his bounty reduced drastically but so was his intimidating influence. With the proper guidance and training, Gecko Moria could become the villain fans wish to see.
