ESPN executives were reportedly outraged when Beverly ousted Malinda Adams from postgame media coverage on Thursday.

Beverly asked Adams if she was subscribed to his podcast, and when she said no he told he she can’t interview him.

“You subscribed to my pod?” Beverly asked.

“I do not,” Adams replied.

“You can’t interview me then. No disrespect.”

Beverly then asked Adams to move her microphone or leave the media area.

ESPN released a statement in support of Adams following the incident.

“Malinda is a well-respected colleague and a true professional. She has our full support.”

Stephen A. Smith took it upon himself to call out Beverly for his behavior on Friday’s episode of First Take.

“I just can’t believe he did that. I’ve known Patrick Beverley for years,” Stephen A. said.

“I love the brother. It’s inexcusable. It’s indefensible.”

Adams later revealed that Beverly called her to apologize and the Bucks also extended an apology.

“I appreciate it and accept it,” she wrote.

“The Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in the news for over 40 years and kindness and grace always win.”

Beverly’s incident with Adams came after an altercation with fans during the Bucks’ 120-98 loss to the Indiana Pacers that eliminated them from the playoffs.

The Bucks star launched basketballs into the stands at heckling fans, one of which hit a woman on the side of her head.

Beverly didn’t express much remorse over the incident, saying the altercation with fans was “not fair,” but that he had to “be better.”

“Not Fair at all. Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We warned and asked for help all night. Not fair,” he wrote on X.

“But I have to be better. And I will.”
