NBA Twitter is having quite the debate regarding a wild rule change that would drastically change the game as we know it.

Over the weekend, a user floated the idea of the league moving all free throws besides and-ones to the end of each quarter — making every game basically end in a FT competition.

Here’s what fans had to say about it on social media:

“That’s stupid, do you know how fatigue they would be? And now you just turned every outcome of the games to free throws!!? This might be the dumbest idea I’ve ever read when it comes to basketball,” a person said.

“Fixing games would never be easier,” another pointed out.

“This would be TERRIBLE,” a fan replied. “End of discussion.”

“This is the worst idea I’ve ever read.”

“one of the stupidest things i’ve ever heard why doesn’t anyone just like basketball,” another user wondered.

“This is a terrible idea,” another fan commented. “Embarrassing to even make it worth a tweet.”

“Here’s a much better free throw change idea,” another person proposed. “Make them all 1+1, meaning if you miss the first one you rebound and continue playing, not only does it give more value to free throw shooting but it makes the game move along faster.”

Obviously the rule change is ridiculous a huge point of contention among basketball lovers. How do you feel about the idea?
