Athlete loses Olympic medal due to sensitive body part

Anthony Ammirati regrets sensitive body part at Olympics.

In the pole vault competition at the Paris Olympics 2024 on August 3, Ammirati thought he had cleared the 5.7m mark on his third attempt, but suddenly his sensitive body part hit the pole and caused it to fall, leading to the French athlete’s failure.

Ammirati’s failure quickly spread on social media. Many people called this an unlucky moment for the French athlete, when he only lost because his body part was bigger than others.

“Imagine training your whole life just to hope to win Olympic glory, only to have ‘that’ ruin it. So unlucky,” commented a fan.

Ammirati seemed very close to winning an Olympic medal in 2024.
Ammirati finished 12th in Group A, ending his journey at the Summer Olympics in his home country. The Times said the 21-year-old’s sensitive body part ruined his dream of winning a medal.

Because if Ammirati had succeeded in the 5.7m bar, he would have definitely reached the final, and almost certainly won an Olympic medal.

Ammirati’s unfortunate failure also caused French athletics to lose hope in the men’s pole vault, when his two teammates Robin Emig and Thibaut Collet also failed to qualify.
