Lainey Wilson Brings Out Miranda Lambert For Surprise Performance Of “Kerosene” During Nashville Show

Two powerhouses on one stage.

Last night, Lainey Wilson headlined Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater for the second night, which featured a surprise appearance by Lainey’s friend and mentorMiranda Lambert.

Throughout the weekend, Lainey had other special guests like Jelly Roll and Wynonna Judd take the stage to sing with her, but of course I’m always going to be partial Mrs. Miranda, and I love seeing her and Lainey on stage together.

The duo delivered a duet of Miranda’s longtime fan-favorite song “Kerosene,” which is a co-write by Miranda and Steve Earle, and was included as the third single and title-track to her debut album. It peaked at #15 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart, but has remained a standout from her impressive catalog for nearly two decades now.

It was also Miranda’s first Top 20 country hit and led to her very first Grammy nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

And it will certainly get the crowd going at any concert, but especially when you get to see Lainey and Miranda singing it together… what a cool moment. If there’s two ladies I would never want to cross, it’s them, which is why this performance is so powerful and fun.

They also performed their new unreleased song “Good Horses,” which they previously performed together last December during Lainey’s four-night run at The Theater at Virgin Hotels during the National Finals Rodeo.

And while we don’t know for sure when it will be released, Lainey is gearing up to release her Whirlwind album on August 23rd, so it seems likely that it could be included on that tracklist. Miranda has also said she’s putting out an album sometime this year, so I’m sure at some point soon we’ll get to hear the studio cut of it.

With these two teaming up, I have no doubt it will be a huge hit and it already sounds like one to me:
