Kansas City Chiefs and former Alabama football star Isaiah Buggs was arrested in Tuscaloosa Sunday, and this latest stint behind bars may end his career.
Buggs was arrested at the scene on charges of second-degree domestic violence and second-degree assault. He was on a 24-hour domestic violence hold with a bond set at $5,000 and was released on Monday.
More information has since come out on what happened, and the details are terrible.
Isaiah Buggs has been accused of dragging the mother of his child down a set of steps and injuring her, according to a report from TMZ.
Tuscaloosa Police stated Buggs caused her to break off several “clip-on toenails.” The report further added that the woman had “scratch marks” on her wrist from the altercation.
Following the alleged assault, Buggs would leave the scene in a white Cadillac after she told him she was calling the police.
Court documents show an officer found evidence that someone broke into an apartment with a tire iron. The police documents later stated Buggs was located in a parking lot at a nearby Little Caesars.
His agent did release a statement following Buggs’ arrest on the animal cruelty charges.
“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today. Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him, and he was unaware they remained at the property in question,” Trey Robinson said in part.
Tuscaloosa Judge Revokes Isaiah Buggs’ Bond After Recent Arrest
Kansas City Chiefs backup defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs got some bad news after a Tuscaloosa judge revoked his bond in an animal cruelty case. The decision came mere hours after Buggs bonded out of jail on unrelated accusations.
He was ordered held without bond.
