McKayla Maroney is back.

Maroney was an Olympic gymnast who achieved internet meme immortality in the 2012 London Olympics when her facial expression went incredibly viral.

Maroney retired from gymnastics in early 2016 and is rarely seen much as she keeps large parts of life private. She is so private that she rarely posts much of anything on social media, where she has millions of fans.

On Instagram, she boasts over 1.3 million fans, but she has yet to post a single thing since October 2023.

Things changed this week after she suddenly returned to the site, but only to post some selfies to her Instagram story.

Maroney could be seen smiling while posing in her bed.

Maroney is not just a legendary gymnast, but she is also a fighter who bravely revealed disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar had sexually abused her.

Her testimony helped convict him in 2018.
