Even though he has been gone for several years now, the late Kobe Bryant remains a beloved figure in the NBA. For former Milwaukee Bucks guard Jeff Teague, though, there’s a reason why he didn’t like the Los Angeles Lakers icon’s game on the court.

Teague played a total of 12 years in the NBA for various teams from 2009 to 2021, including the Atlanta Hawks, where he spent seven seasons. He was also part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA championship-winning team in 2021.

The former NBA guard’s basketball journey began in high school at Pike High School in Indianapolis, where he showcased his skills as a standout player. He continued to excel in college, playing for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. As a college player, Teague earned several accolades and was selected as an NBA draft pick in 2009 by the Atlanta Hawks.

During his time in Atlanta, Teague had both breakout seasons and early years of development. He consistently improved his performance and became a key player for the team. Teague’s career also saw him play for the Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, and briefly return to the Atlanta Hawks before joining the Milwaukee Bucks and winning a ring with the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team in 2021.

After retiring from professional basketball in 2021, Teague transitioned to coaching and took on the role of head coach at Pike High School. Throughout his career, Teague achieved notable milestones, including an NBA All-Star selection in 2015.

Years after his untimely death, there are still a lot of stories about Bryant. One of these was told by Teague in a video shared by Gilbert Arenas on X.

Bryant, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, amassed a remarkable list of accomplishments during his NBA career. Known for his unparalleled work ethic and competitive drive, the late Black Mamba won five NBA championships with the Lakers. He was also an 18-time NBA All-Star, earning the respect of his peers and fans alike.

While the specifics of Bryant’s game might not be enticing to Teague, there’s no question how effective he was on the court. In any case, Teague’s anecdote just serves to make the Lakers legend’s fame grow more.
