On Tuesday, General Hospital fans were left shocked after hearing the show will recast a beloved character in a shock decision.

Emme Rylan, 43, who plays Lulu Spencer, will not be returning to the soap opera.

The Bring It On: All or Nothing actress confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories.

She wrote, “Yes it is true. GH has decided to recast Lulu.

“Although I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure. (And thank goodness GH brought all of you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!).”

In a later social media post, Emme made necklaces with her daughter to distract herself from the sad news.

The Hollywood actress shares three children with her partner Don Money.

Emme has been playing Lulu since 2013 but hasn’t been on the show since 2020.

Her character has been in a coma following an explosion at the Floating Rib.

‘IT MAKES ZERO SENSE’

After the shocking news, fans flooded Emme’s most recent Instagram post with loving messages and their outrage at the major shakeup.

General Hospital fan-favorite character officially returns to show along with two new cast members after low ratings
One commented, You’re the best. They’re making a mistake and it’s s****y they left you hanging for 4 years without telling you they weren’t bringing you back.

“I already hate the new Lulu because it’s not Emme Rylan.”

Another said, “It’s so ridiculous that they recast you. It’s a mess at that place. They keep recasting iconic roles and it’s making me mad.

“I’ve been dying for you to come back and now you are, but it’s not you. That makes ZERO sense, especially when it’s what the fans want.”

“Very disappointed. Not sure how this happened but we are very broken-hearted that you’re not coming back,” stated a third follower.
