A former NFL star wide receiver claims that All-Pro wideout Davante Adams is unhappy with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Davante Adams has been the subject of trade rumors for a while now. The 31-year-old openly expressed his frustrations with the Raiders offense during the 2023 regular season, and many wondered if he’d be traded before the deadline with the club near the bottom of the AFC standings.

Several rumors have tied Adams to the New York Jets, where former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers resides. At this time, however, all signs point to Adams starting the season in Sin City.

But during an appearance on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd”, former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson claims that he’s spoken to the All-Pro receiver, who claims to be unhappy in Vegas:

“This one’s tough because me and Davante, we’ve talked, and I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that’s ‘Oh, D-Jax said this and said that” but at the end of the day [Davante] isn’t happy. You go from Aaron Rodgers, then you come to the Las Vegas Raiders… and it just didn’t quite work out and so now I just don’t think he’s really that happy there.”

After the Packers traded Adams to the Raiders in the 2022 offseason, the future Hall of Famer signed a lucrative five-year contract worth $140 million. Through his first two years in Vegas, Adams has caught 203 passes for 2,660 yards and 22 touchdowns.

In 2023, Adams recorded 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns. The Raiders finished 8-9 and missed out on the postseason for the second straight year.

Las Vegas is hoping to rebound with a full year of Antonio Pierce as head coach, and with Gardner Minshew II taking over as quarterback. But if the Raiders are out of the playoff race leading up to the deadline, expect the Davante Adams trade rumors to ramp up again.

Raiders Open 2024 Season At Chargers

The Raiders will kick off the 2024 season with a road contest against the bitter AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers in what marks Jim Harbaugh’s debut as the Bolts’ head coach.

Las Vegas and Los Angeles have split the season series in each of the last four years, with the home team winning six straight meetings.
