We have just learned that the Montreal Canadiens are finally in the process of signing forward Filip Zadina.

In recent hours, we reported that former 6th overall pick Filip Zadina was close to signing a new contract:

According to the reputable Kevin Weekes, three finalist teams are in the race to finalize a contract with him, but following the acquisition of Patrik Laine, we did not believe that the Montreal Canadiens were in the race (even though Kent Hughes loves giving chances to high draft picks looking for a fresh start).

The Canadiens are among the three finalist teams to sign forward Filip Zadina, according to Pavel Barta

Finally, it turns out that Kent Hughes is in the race!

Kent Hughes is really involved in every deal, and we love it!

A situation to follow, but be aware that the Canadiens want to sign Zadina.

Are we talking about a professional tryout (PTO) or a small one-year contract? Stay tuned.

At 24 years old, Filip Zadina is a 6-foot, 190-pound forward. He was the 6th overall pick in 2018 (1st round) and has accumulated 91 points in 262 career NHL games, including 41 goals.

He played with the San Jose Sharks last season.

The player who once wanted to “fill the Montreal Canadiens’ net with pucks” might finally be scoring goals for the Habs!
