Friends actress Jennifer Aniston has slammed woke ‘cancel culture’ in the wake of the much-awaited new season of The Morning Show – which centres around the #MeToo movement

Jennifer Aniston recalls needing to have someone with her when Harvey Weinstein came into her trailer on a set.

The Friends star spent time with the 71-year-old film producer, who is currently serving a sentence of 39 years behind bars for four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

But despite her position on The Morning Show, which came out in the wake of the #MeToo movement, Jennifer isn’t a fan of “cancel culture” – and won’t lump everyone in with Weinstein.

In a candid interview with the Wall Street Journal Magazine, Jen admitted: “I’m so over cancel culture. I probably just got cancelled by saying that.

“I just don’t understand what it means. Is there no redemption? I don’t know. I don’t put everybody in the Harvey Weinstein basket.”

Touching on her encounters with Weinstein, Jennifer elaborated: “He’s not a guy you’re like, ‘God, I can’t wait to hang out with Harvey’. Never. You were actually like, ‘Oh god, okay, suck it up’.

“I remember actually, he came to visit me on a movie to pitch me a movie. And I do remember consciously having a person stay in my trailer.”

Weinstein, meanwhile, insisted to the WSJ Magazine that Jennifer “never had any uncomfortable instances with me”.

It comes after a woman testified at the Los Angeles Superior Court last October that Weinstein demanded she give him a “naked massage” before “ejaculating” on her breasts and face.

The woman, referred to in court as Ashley M, told the court: “He said, ‘It’s not like we’re having sex … it’s naked cuddling I was really scared, I didn’t know what to do. I said stop

“I just remember in my head saying, ‘What do I do?’ I knew he was just really big and [Weinstein’s assistant] Bonnie [Hung] most likely was out there. I didn’t know what to do.”

For Jennifer, her new interview didn’t just tackle her feelings about Weinstein – she also touched on the “difficulties” she has in relationships after seeing her parents divorce when she was a child.

The 54-year-old confessed that “watching her family’s relationship” didn’t inspire her to start one of her own, admitting that she doesn’t want to “sacrifice who she is” and finds it much “easier” to fly solo.

Jen added: “It’s just about not being afraid to say what you need and what you want. And it’s still a challenge for me in a relationship. I’m really good at every other job I have, and that’s sort of the one area that’s a little….”
