While he was enjoying great success with the female gender during his heyday in the NBA, Michael Jordan dated Robin Givens, who later became Mike Tyson’s wife. A romance about which he spoke with great honesty.

Although he admits to having long had great difficulties with the art of flirting , these quickly disappeared following his arrival in the NBA.

Michael Jordan has indeed accumulated many conquests once he arrived in the league’s ranks, including the famous actress Robin Givens.

This, before the latter ran into the arms of Mike Tyson, with whom she even married in 1988.

Michael Jordan Honest About His Affair With Robin Givens

A star of several successful sitcoms in the 1980s, Givens temporarily considered Jordan her boyfriend. This fling occurred just months before she met Mike Tyson, with whom she also had a great love affair. A situation on which MJ was not tender in 1989, during an interview published in the columns of GQ Sports :

In his limousine, Michael read the latest USA Today scoop on Mike Tyson and Robin Givens, while his girlfriend of the moment asked him about the horror movie they had watched the night before.

But Jordan didn’t have time to answer them. Instead, he imagined another horror movie in his own mind: he could have been in Mike Tyson’s shoes at that moment.

Between relationships with Eddie Murphy and Mike Tyson, Givens stopped by Michael for a little fling. “Within five or six days, it was doomed,” Michael says.

“I could see it.” He could see that she wasn’t looking for relationships with men, but rather ways to climb the ladder in show business.

Convinced that he had simply acted as a springboard for his ex, Mike seemed more than relieved not to play the role of the legendary boxer in this scenario. This has in any case led him to develop a great distrust of women:

Rather than showing pride in having formed a couple with Robin Givens for a few days, Michael Jordan mostly regretted having dated her. For him, the actress was simply looking to boost her stock, and not to develop a lasting relationship.
