LOVE Island’s Jess White has encountered a fair few celebs while at work in posh Marks & Spencer but has revealed one particularly awkward encounter with a football legend.

The retail manager, who works in an affluent Cheshire suburb, spotted Manchester United champ Wayne Rooney browsing the aisles.

The 25 year old said: “I did think ‘maybe this is where I’ll meet my future husband’ but I feel like work uniform doesn’t really go hand in hand with meeting a footballer.

“But I had Wayne Rooney in the other day… it’s not doing well for him, the old age. I was shocked.

“He was looking at the Master Grill range, but I was thinking Wayne, love, I’ll get you to the Count On Us range instead.

“He’s proper let himself go, god love him.

“I said to my friend, shall I go and talk to him?

“But he was just picking his grill, the Master grill, you know the posh stuff.

“I’d have got sacked if I’d sent him over to Count On Us!”

It comes after The Sun revealed Jess had left her former employers “furious” after walking out on a huge job promotion in order to find love in the villa.

She abruptly quit just weeks ago in order to take part in the long-running ITV2 dating show.

So The Sun understands the confirmation she will be looking for love in the Majorcan sun has left a sour taste in their mouths.

A source close to Jess told The Sun: “The news that Jess walked out on her huge promotion after a few weeks has really not gone down well with senior management.

“She had been an exemplary worker and they had championed her and pushed for her to receive this new promotion.

“One described it like a ‘kick in the teeth’ after all the hard work they had put in.”
