Taylor Swift lights up Edinburgh Castle as superstar kicks off Eras Tour at Murrayfield Stadium

Taylor Swift fever is currently sweeping Scotland’s capital as the popstar has kicked off a run of shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium – and those in the city may have noticed a familiar sight on a very historic monument.

Edinburgh Castle lit up last night with a projected image of Taylor Swift’s newest album, The Tortured Poets Department. Despite only being released earlier this year, it’s a firm favourite amongst fans and even has its own slot during the Eras Tour.

The album cover can be seen high above the ground on the rugged wall that surrounds the historic site. It’s one of Scotland’s most impressive tourist destinations, with a rich history that was once home to Scotland’s monarchs.

Taylor’s run of shows at Murrayfield continues tonight, June 8, with thousands more Swifties expected to descend on the Scottish capital to don their best Eras outfits and sing along to the star’s biggest hits including Love Story, Blank Space and All Too Well.

It’s said to be the most highly-attended stadium shows in Scotland’s history. 73,000 fans attended on the first night, some of whom had travelled as far as Australia and the USA.
