Rob Statham, known as The Librarian, took to the stage in a bid to impress the judges with his rapping skills.

He stepped out in a harlequin slip over jumper and a pair of beige chinos, giving the impression that he’s a quiet retiring book-lover.

But in reality, Rob has a very naughty side job when he’s not spitting lyrics.

The performer has a entertainment and events business as a naked window cleaner and is known as Mr Bit in Derby, where he is from.

An advertisement, which is posted in the local business listings, shows Rob cleaning windows in the nude as he flashes his bottom at the camera.

It states that he is available for a range of events – including surprise parties, comedy events and adult-themed events.

Rob also makes it clear that all customers must be over 18 to enquire.

Last night, viewers were surprised by his unexpected talent.

The 59-year-old explained that he loved books, telling presenters Ant and Dec backstage: “It’s all about reading tonight and books, books is knowledge.”

Rob stunned the audience and judges when he started rapping.

“It’s a rap,” Ant said as the music started.

The catchy tune got the audience going, with lyrics that included: “I’m checking out my books, I’m checking out my books, if you bring them back late you’re going to get funny looks.

“Everyone’s a bookworm, read a book a day, a novel, or a biography, but not 50 Shades of Grey.”

While Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli went wild for the chorus, which went: “Everybody in the house…sssssh. Everybody in the house, keep it down.”

Unfortunately, Simon Cowell was less than impressed and gave Rob the red buzzer.

But the other judges gave the gave the musician a standing ovation following his “book drop” at the end of his performance.

Simon told him: “We weren’t expecting that Robert, that’s what I would call an acquired taste.

“Look, very nice to meet you but I’m going to say no.”

But former Strictly judge Bruno told him: “I think you were very entertaining, you put across a message in a very good way.

“Ssssh they tell me that all the time, so I’m with you.”

Alesha added: “I’ve never seen a book drop in my life. Do that again, drop the book.”

“I quite enjoyed it but I don’t know if I want to hear it again.”

Surprisingly, he was given three yeses and made it through to the next round.
