The Boston Celtics dominated game 1 of the NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks, winning 107-89. All the players have given their contribution to the team’s success. However, Celtics guard Jrue Holiday gave some credit to the team’s white players for the victory.

During a post-game interview with NBC Sports, Holiday asked about the mentality of the team for placing different players against Luka Doncic, a star player of the Mavericks, throughout the game. In response, Holiday said that the strategy worked, and different players defended against Doncic. He also mentioned the white players on the team were challenging for Doncic.

“I think it helps a lot, throwing different guys at him. Different guys that play defense differently. Some are aggressive; some are not. But I think even our white guys guard, so hopefully, it’s challenging for him.” Holiday said to the NBC reporters.

Holiday’s statement made waves on social media, as his interview quickly went viral and sparked a variety of reactions from fans. During the game, Holiday made a significant impact, scoring 12 points, providing 5 assists, and grabbing 8 rebounds in 35 minutes of play. Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown, the Eastern Conference Finals MVP, once again dominated the game with 22 points, 2 assists, and 6 rebounds.
