One of the most popular sports in America is the NBA, which is well-known for its exciting competition and the witty trash language that sometimes spices up the matches. Exchanging trash talk between rival teams is very common in the game, but it is unusual and unexpected when it occurs between teammates.

Recently, it looks like some old drama got reheated for the Minnesota Timberwolves because an audio clip from 2021 just surfaced online.

The dramatic clip got teammates Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns throwing some serious shade at each other. A furious altercation broke out between Minnesota Timberwolves players in 2021 during a game against the Miami Heat.

In the match, Butler made a harsh personal attack on Towns, describing him as “soft as baby sh*t.” To divert attention away from Butler’s acts, KAT referenced “Rachel Nichols” to deflect the topic. But the ex-Minnesota player didn’t take the response well and replied, “You’re a loser… I already punked you once.”

The Timberwolves’ future was clouded by this collected clip, which caused supporters to worry about the team’s internal dynamics. Throughout his brief time with the Timberwolves, Jimmy Butler’s violent conduct extended beyond Towns and into conflicts with other players. However, Anthony Edwards later tried to downplay the confrontation, calling it a “regular conversation” and suggesting the situation was just part of the game.

Jimmy Butler’s Injury Deals a Blow to the Miami Heat

Last year, in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Boston Celtics robbed the Miami Heat of the opportunity to display their true potential on the floor. Unfortunately, the Heat’s group was far from its full potential. A similar scenario might unfold this year with late-season injuries hitting hard, especially Jimmy Butler.

So, concern among fans is understandable, but some may be going too far as they see important players go down the bench one by one. As transcribed from Sports Illustrated, ESPN’s Zach Lowe commented about the current situation on his podcast last week, “We barely got to see Rozier, Butler, Herro, and Bam together at all before everybody got injured at different time, including at the end of the season when they were completely helpless against Boston in the playoffs.”

However, the Miami Heat have shown they can compete without star players for the last two seasons. So, fans continue to believe in the team’s resilience and fortitude in the face of present challenges.
