UConn star Paige Bueckers surprised a lot of people when she elected to return to the Huskies for (at least) one more NCAA season instead of declaring for the 2024 WNBA Draft.
If Bueckers did decide to go pro, she would have been yet another massive superstar in an already iconic rookie class.
Alas, the WNBA will have to wait at least one more season until Bueckers joins the league.
But Bueckers did speak about the starts that Clark, Reese, and the other WNBA rookies have experienced so far on Friday.
“I think Caitlin has brought so many new eyes to the game and we appreciate that,” Bueckers said, per X user Lori Riley.

“It’s impressive,” Bueckers continued. “I think the rookie class is doing extremely well. And just to see the level of talent… is fun to watch.”
Bueckers also broke major news on Friday about her own future.
She said that while she hasn’t decided completely whether this upcoming season at UConn will be her last (she has two more years of eligibility), she thinks that, as of right now, she’s leaning towards entering the 2025 WNBA Draft.
So it seems like fans will see Bueckers in the WNBA soon.
