The Detroit Lions just suffered a brutal loss following the news on cornerback Emmanuel Moseley.
Moseley, unfortunately, suffered another significant injury that will sideline him for some time.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Emmanuel Moseley suffered a torn pectoral in practice this week, and he will now be out indefinitely. This comes after he suffered torn ACLs two years in a row.
The poor guy can’t simply catch a break.
The timeline for a torn pec can vary. For example, last year’s C.J. Gardner-Johnson had the same injury and missed the majority of the season before making a return near the very end of the year.
The Lions must wait and hope Moseley is a quick healer.
In training camp, Emmanuel Moseley was transitioning from outside cornerback to the nickel position. This was an important camp as he was battling Amik Robertson for the starting role.
Emmanuel Moseley Has Had The Worst Luck To Start His NFL Career
Moseley went undrafted out of the University of Tennessee in 2018 and signed his first contract with the San Francisco 49ers. However, he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in his first NFL game.
He returned the following year and recorded a career-high 50 combined tackles, eight passes defended, and one interception in 16 games played with nine starts.
Emmanuel Moseley would suffer a torn ACL on a pick-six during the 2022 season and sign a one-year deal with Detroit last offseason.
His bad luck continued as he would tear his ACL again just two snaps into his Lions debut.
In 46 career games played, Moseley has recorded 162 combined tackles, 33 passes defended, and four interceptions.
