Linda Robson has revealed the awkward moment she was asked to talk about opera music live on screen which resulted in her saying something very unexpected

Loose Women’s Linda Robson has revealed she suffered an extremely awkward blunder.

The actress and television presenter spoke to her fellow Loose ladies during the latest instalment of the ITV programme as they discussed name blunders. It came after Laverne Cox awkwardly got Hannah Waddingham’s name wrong on the Emmys red carpet.

British star Hannah was called “Hannah Waddington” before reminding Laverne who stars in Orange is the New Black that it was “Waddingham” – on three occasions. She added: “Get it right.” Before parting ways, the 51-year-old host made a point to put emphasise that the actress’ name was “Waddingham, not ton,” to which Hannah reminded her how important it is to “get it right” once again.

Linda Robson recalled a very awkward blunder
During Loose Women, the stars recalled their own experiences as Linda revealed she’s suffered blunders on more than one occasion. She said: “People do it to me all the time, I was Anita Dobson last week,” before adding: “I did this series once called Jobs for the Girls and we had to do opera singing with Lesley Garrett and Pauline Quirke at Kenwood.
“I went to see Pavorotti at The Royal Albert Hall, as far as I know, the person who was supposed to be doing the chat while he was off stage having his ice cream had dropped out. They came to me and said ‘Oh we need 15 minutes to fill, could you come and talk about opera for 15 minutes?’” lime

Linda went on to explain: “I thought ‘I don’t know anything about opera!’ This is live television, I think it was Mary Nightingale who had to interview me and I said ‘Well I can’t really understand because they’re singing it in a foreign language, they should have subtitles, shouldn’t they!’

“I said ‘He keeps going off for an ice cream every five minutes while we’re sitting here waiting for him to come back on again!’ It was like the longest 15 minutes of my life. I was trying to pad it out as much as I could but I was just digging a hole and it was getting worse and worse.”

Meanwhile, Brenda Edwards went on to reveal her own blunder which involved being in bed with somebody. But she was keen to point out that she didn’t get an individual’s name wrong. “I have and I’ve apologised,” she said of getting someone’s name wrong before explaining: “It’s happened to me and the person apologised. It’s worse when they’re saying you’re in bed and it’s someone else’s name! I didn’t do that… It’s happened!” lime

Linda Robson has shared a cringeworthy moment when she was put on the spot to discuss opera music live on air, resulting in an unexpected response. During a recent episode of Loose Women, the actress and TV presenter opened up about the awkward blunder she experienced.

Reflecting on name mix-ups, Linda recalled a time when she was mistakenly referred to as Anita Dobson. She then went on to recount a particularly nerve-wracking incident involving opera singing with Lesley Garrett and Pauline Quirke at Kenwood. Linda shared, “I went to see Pavarotti at The Royal Albert Hall, and it turned out that I had to fill in for someone who was supposed to talk about opera for 15 minutes while he was off stage having his ice cream.”

She continued, “I was completely unprepared and clueless about opera. I even suggested that operas should have subtitles because they were singing in a foreign language. It was a live television moment and I just kept digging myself into a hole, making the situation worse with each passing minute.” lime

Moreover, Brenda Edwards also chimed in with her own embarrassing story, involving a mix-up that led to being wrongly associated with someone in bed. Despite the awkwardness, Brenda emphasized the importance of owning up to mistakes and apologizing when necessary.

These recountings serve as a reminder that even celebrities aren’t immune to the occasional slip-up when it comes to names and public appearances. In the unpredictable world of live television, anything can happen and sometimes, hilariously unexpected moments ensue.
