The last three months have been highly eventful for Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown. Despite winning his first-ever NBA championship and NBA Finals MVP award, he was snubbed from Team USA’s roster after Kawhi Leonard’s withdrawal from the Paris Olympics 2024. However, the 27-year-old has made headlines with his recent partnership, setting social media abuzz.
While the three-time NBA All-Star is currently focused on training for the Celtics’ title defense in the 2024-25 season, he found time to invest in another interest from his busy schedule. The Celtics forward recently announced the release of his debut song, featuring New York-based rapper A$AP Ferg.
The track will be dropped on Friday, August 23, 2024, and fans have taken to social media to react to Brown’s latest update. OnThinIce posted a picture of Jaylen Brown lifting his 2024 NBA Finals MVP trophy. The post shared on X (formerly Twitter) mentioned a collaboration between Brown and Ferg and a release date of August 23.
The picture looked like a poster for a music album or song with a warning label. The song is reportedly named ‘Just Do It.’ Soon, Brown reposted it on his X handle, announcing his music debut.
Social Media Reacts To Jaylen Brown And A$AP Ferg Partnership
As soon as Brown reposted the tweet to his X handle, the social media users flooded the platform with hilarious reactions. Many users noticed the name of the song and linked it with Nike. Considering Brown’s history with the sportswear brand, fans expect a diss track against them.
Brown was snubbed from the Team USA squad selection for the Paris Olympics 2024. After Clippers star Kawhi Leonard left the team, Brown emerged as the favorite to replace him. However, USA Basketball passed on Brown, who later claimed he was not surprised by the decision.
The Celtics forward has been a persistent critic of Nike, believing that the sportswear brand could have influenced his national team selection. Strikingly, his debut song, ‘Just Do It,’ is Nike’s popular tagline. However, it will only be clear after the release whether Brown aimed shots at the sports brand.
