Johnson seems to be finding success at every venture, be it as an actor or as a professional wrestler.
Dwayne Johnson has kept himself busy this year and has added more responsibilities for himself on the career front. Apart from handling his Hollywood career, The Rock returned to the WWE ring and took part in this year’s WrestleMania 40.
He also joined the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, the company that handles WWE and UFC.
While he restarts his wrestling career, Johnson still has not forgotten his films as he recently showed up at CinemaCon to debut the first look footage of Moana 2.
The actor expressed his excitement about returning to the role of Maui in the animated film, which will be released in November 2024. His insane dedication to his craft has earned him yet another nickname in the media.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Is Now ‘The Hardest Working Dude’ In Hollywood
Dwayne Johnson seems to have Midas Touch with everything he gets involved in. Be it his movie career or his tenure as a professional wrestler, the Rock has had a meteoric rise on both fronts.
The actor has headlined blockbuster franchises such as the Jumanji films, Fast and Furious films, and even received his own spinoff film, Hobbs & Shaw.
Johnson also returned to WWE this year, fighting his first bout in years at this year’s WrestleMania. The Brahma Bull entered the ring and reignited his feud with his cousin, the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.
However, he also paved the way for Cody Rhodes to finish his story at WrestleMania 40, with the latter winning his first World Championship (via USA Today).
On the same weekend as WrestleMania, The Rock reportedly headed to Las Vegas after the event to attend CinemaCon, where he debuted footage from his upcoming film Moana 2.
The actor returns to voice Maui in the sequel. The actor expressed his love for the franchise and mentioned why it was personally important for him to bring the story.
According to Cinema Blend, Dwayne Johnson said to the crowd at CinemaCon,
“Now, playing the character of Maui has been one of the most life-changing experiences for me, one of the most life-changing roles… it’s my culture as you can see. I wear it on my body, my chest, my tattoos. The character of Maui was based on my grandfather… it’s so much deeper than a movie to me and so much deeper to Disney as well.”
Jessica Rawden of Cinema Blend appreciated Johnson’s commitment to his craft as he balanced both events and christened him as the ‘Hardest Working Dude in Hollywood’.
Dwayne Johnson Accepts His New Moniker After Having An Eventful Weekend
Dwayne Johnson has received multiple nicknames in his career as a professional wrestler and as an actor. While his persona as The Rock has been his most cherished and known moniker, he has been called multiple things over the years.
His WWE career itself has given him nicknames such as ‘The Brahma Bull’ referring to his Taurus tattoo and more recently, the ‘Final Boss’.
Recently, after doing a double shift with WrestleMania and CinemaCon, Johnson received yet another nickname from Cinema Blend’s Jessica Rawden.
He was called the ‘Hardest Working Dude in Hollywood’, which he readily accepted. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude for his CinemaCon event and for the moniker, he said,
“I have a lot of crazy nicknames, but I’ll happily add the ‘Hardest working dude in Hollywood’ to that list too…Truth is, I make sure I surround myself with the hardest workers in the game. Teamwork. I may be the one who flies the spaceships around the universe, but there are teams, who are a lot smarter than I am – which ain’t hard to be – who actually build these spaceships I get to fly.”
Johnson gave his thanks to his team and mentioned that he would try to ‘look cool and not screw up’ while they work on the backend.
