One Piece Chapter 1119 dropped recently and despite being very short, with 13 pages once again, it was certainly very exciting. Fans finally got a run of three straight chapters like usual after a long time, and this finally made the Egghead Island arc get some continuity. However, with short chapters, not much has transpired over the course of the last few weeks. Still, the story is moving closer towards its conclusion, in regards to the Egghead Island arc, and things are likely to get more exciting from here onwards.
Fans absolutely cannot wait to see how things wrap up in this story arc, and with the Straw Hat Pirates almost at the exit door, ready to escape, the scene is likely to change quickly over the course of the next few weeks.
Luffy, Sanji, Bonney, And Franky Combine
Fans Got To See A New Combined Attack In One Piece
One Piece chapter 1119 was absolutely sensational in terms of what it gave to the fans, combat-wise. One of the few things that fans knew would happen in this chapter was a confrontation between the likes of Luffy and his allies, against the Five Elders. That is precisely what ended up happening, and Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates essentially combined their strength to blow away Marcus Mars. Fans know him to be a very powerful Yokai ability user, and he holds the power of the Itsumade. Luffy was quick to note that he could not injure him permanently or kill him, and as a result, the best way to go about it would be to send him flying so that he can, at the very least, escape. However, Luffy could not do this on his own and required help from the likes of his allies. That is precisely why he asked Bonney to transform into Gear 5 in the previous chapter and she did so effortlessly. Meanwhile, he also asked help from Franky and Sanji, and together, they all combined to launch one powerful attack at Mars, blowing him away for good. Every single attacker utilized their best power to blow away Mars, and it was certainly a very powerful attack.
The Captain’s orders are absolute, Bonney chan! – Sanji
For instance, Luffy made use of his Gear 5 version of Gum Gum Balloon to block Mars’s attack, while Sanji, Bonney, and Franky utilized a powerful version of their techniques to channel all that force into Luffy so that he could blow him away. Essentially, Sanji utilized Ifrit Jambe for the second time, throwing a powerful Hell Memories at Luffy. Meanwhile, Franky used a stronger variation of Strong Right, which was certainly the weakest of the lot, while Bonney used Gear 5 and also tapped into the power of Armament Haki for the first time. All these attacks connected with Luffy, and this allowed them to launch a powerful attack that sent away Marcus Mars flying. Clearly, he won’t be back for the remainder of this arc, and it will be interesting to see how they deal with the remaining of the Elders on Egghead.
The Egghead Escape Continues
The Straw Hat Pirates Continue To Fight For An Escape
Given that One Piece chapter 1119 was very short once again, fans knew that it would not cover too many events at the same time. The battle between the Straw Hat Pirates and the elders took up a significant portion of the chapter, while the other part focused on the desperate attempt of the Straw Hat Pirates to escape from the island. For instance, moments after Luffy blew away Mars with help from the remaining members of the Straw Hat Pirates, it didn’t take the other Elders long to take his place instead. Fans got to see Sandworm finally make his move and he rained down the Cypher Pol members on the ship of the Giant Pirates. This move was certainly ineffective, but he continued in his attempt to prevent the pirates from escaping. Using his suction powers, he was able to hold the Giants in position, only for Luffy to engage him in combat and deliver a power punch directly to his face. Luffy continued fighting against him for a Small portion of the chapter, and it was certainly very fun, at the very least.
Fans also got to see some of Vegapunk’s message continuing in One Piece chapter 1119. This was very important as the snail within the Iron Giant is still active. This week, Vegapunk talked about the people of the D and prayed that his message reached them in one way or another. Fans also got to see people from all over the world once again, such as Vivi, who was clearly intrigued by the talk of the D. Charlotte Katakuri was another character that fans saw in the story after a very long time and it was a very fun addition by Oda. Fans hope to see him again soon, and it will certainly be interesting if and when that happens. Meanwhile, other characters, such as Gaimon, also made his appearance in One Piece chapter 1119 and it was intriguing to see. However, once again, the fight on Egghead took priority.
The Iron Giant Emerges
Emeth Finally Makes A Move In One Piece
One Piece chapter 1119 ended on a very emphatic note. As Luffy was fighting against the Sandworm, Warcury took it upon himself to destroy the ship of the Giants. He charged at them at an incredibly fast pace, continuing to uphold his strong performance on Egghead. It can be said that Warcury has had the best performance out of all the Elders on Egghead, and he would have succeeded in his goals, had it not been for the Iron Giant. Luffy was very worried about Warcury when he started charging towards the ship, given that his skin was incredibly tough and that none on the giant ship could actually challenge it. However, moments before he made contact with the ship, the Iron Giant emerged from the water and punched it directly across the face.
Emet, when the time comes…you must… – Joy Boy
The strength of the Iron Giant was absolutely immense and he was able to actually damage Warcury through his tough skin, and at the same time, break one of his tusks as well. This was an absolutely shocking scene in the story that only adds more depth to the character of Iron Giant. This depth comes from the small flashback text bubbles that fans got in the chapter. It was revealed that the name of the Iron Giant is actually Emet, and that Joy Boy once spoke to it and asked him to prepare himself as the time is at hand. Joyboy entrusted Emet with something, and fans will hopefully find out more about that later down the line. For now, the escape of the Straw Hats from Egghead looks likelier than ever.
