Kevin Spacey supporters Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone are telling a London publication that the Oscar-winning actor deserves another chance in Hollywood.

Spacey is the subject of a new two-part docuseries Spacey Unmasked, an exposé on the actor’s past that premiered May 6 and 7 on Channel 4 in the U.K.

Spacey Unmasked has also been obtained by Warner Bros. Discovery’sWarner Bros. Discovery 0.0% Max streaming service in the U.S., but a premiere date has not yet been announced.

Since 2017, Spacey has faced both civil and criminal trials over his alleged sexual misconduct. In 2022, Spacey was found not liable in a civil lawsuit regarding claims of unwanted sexual advances made against him by Rent actor Anthony Rapp.

Now that Spacey has been cleared of any wrongdoing, Neeson and Stone have pledged their support for the actor for a chance to return to showbiz since he has said he’s been struggling to find work.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of these accusations against him. Kevin is a good man and a man of character,” Neeson told The Telegraph. “He’s sensitive, articulate and non-judgmental, with a terrific sense of humor. He is also one of our finest artists in the theatre and on camera. Personally speaking, our industry needs him and misses him greatly.”

Throwing her support behind Spacey, Stone told The Telegraph, “I can’t wait to see Kevin back at work. He is a genius. He is so elegant and fun, generous to a fault and knows more about our craft than most of us ever will.”

The Basic Instinct and Casino star also took aim at aspiring actors who wanted to be around Spacey but may have been harboring other ideas.

“It’s terrible that they are blaming him for not being able to come to terms with themselves for using him and negotiating with themselves because they didn’t get their secret agendas,” Stone told The Telegraph.

Channel 4 Defends ‘Spacey Unmasked’

Variety reported in late April that Spacey Unmasked features interviews with “multiple men” who have had experiences with Spacey.

Spacey—who won Oscars for his portrayals in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty—sent Variety a statement regarding Warner Bros. Discovery’s acquisition of the Channel 4 docuseries, which the trade publication in turn shared in a post on X.

Spacey’s statement read, “I’m honored to be starring in my first film with Warner Brothers in many years. I hope the Academy takes note of some of the great acting by the lesser known cast.”

In the Wednesday article in The Telegraph, a spokesman for Channel 4—which commissioned Spacey Unmasked in 2022—defended the docuseries.

Spacey Unmasked is an important film exploring the balance of power and inappropriate behavior in a work environment, aiming to give a voice to those who have previously been unable to speak out,” the spokesman said in a statement.

He also told The Telegraph that following the allegations of sexual misconduct, he wanted “people to ask questions and investigate. And I am well aware that that did not happen.”

Also coming out in support of Spacey in The Telegraph article was Amadeus Oscar-winning actor F. Murray Abraham.

“I vouch for him unequivocally. Who are these vultures who attack a man who has publicly accepted his responsibility for certain behavior, unlike so many others?” Abraham told The Telegraph. “He is a fine man, I stand with him, and let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”
