Angel Reese’s professional basketball career is off to a great start.

She recently tied a WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles in her last game against the Las Vegas Aces, and she’s a candidate for the Rookie of the Year award.

Many former players have given their opinion on Reese’s game, and another ex-NBA star recently offered his perspective.

“That’s the B-more swag, that can’t be taught. Something we’re born and bred with,” said former NBA star Muggsy Bogues.

Both players grew up in Baltimore, with Bogues becoming one of the best players in Maryland high school history.

Reese was also excellent in high school, emerging as a five-star recruit.

“I am so proud of her and all the she’s accomplished and what she’s done for the game,” Bogues added.

Reese began her college career close to home at the University of Maryland, but she found greater success at LSU.

Reese helped the Tigers win their first national title in 2023, and led them to another appearance in the Elite Eight last season.

Her efforts helped her become the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky. The Sky also selected South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso, another national champion who Reese battled in the SEC

The Sky are looking to put together a formidable frontcourt duo they hope will dominate well into the future, and early returns have been positive.

Cardoso has shown promise since entering the lineup after her injury, and Reese has arguably been the league’s best rookie not named Caitlin Clark.

Reese will look to set her own record with a 10th straight double-double in the Sky’s next game. Chicago will face the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday at 3 PM ET
