Amir Khan has expressed his willingness to step in for Mike Tyson to fight Jake Paul, provided the YouTube star sheds some weight. Tyson was originally scheduled to fight Paul on July 20, but due to medical issues, the match has been postponed.

Khan, a former world champion who weighed around 140lb during his prime, stated that he would be open to the fight if Paul, who recently bulked up to 230lb, could lose some weight. “If the weights are right,” Khan told Offshore Poker Sites.

“I don’t mind giving away 20 pounds. It just depends on the weight because I know Jake has put on a lot of weight to fight Mike. Jake is not normally that big, but he’s put on a lot of mass, so it depends on him, whether he’s willing to lose that weight and we find some middle ground somewhere.”

He also criticized the lack of discipline in Paul’s training regime and suggested he might have to knock out KSI, Jake Paul, and his brother Logan to teach them a lesson about respecting the sport.

“I don’t think Jake Paul will want anything to do with me to be honest. I want to put this influencer boxing to rest because these guys are destroying boxing and until they get a good beating, they won’t realise that boxing is for real fighters who take the sport seriously.”

Despite his recent health scare, ‘Iron Mike’ said he is in good health and has been advised to take a break for few weeks before resuming his training.

Interestingly, Tyson’s previous contender Roy Jones Jr is also considering stepping in as a potential substitute and is preparing himself physically in the event of being called up, reports the Mirror.

Khan has also stated that he’d like to fight KSI, bringing up a previous incident in which the British YouTuber made an offensive remark towards people from Pakistan – the country where his family originates.

Khan said: ” KSI insulted the Pakistanis on one of his videos and the whole Pakistani community is rooting for me to give him a good beating. He can’t fight, he’s making the sport look bad, so they need a real fighter to put them right – so they stay out of boxing. Stick to your YouTube and Disney Channel, these guys are making the sport a joke now.”
