LeBron James and Bronny James
NBA (DR)

Bronny James has been a Lakers player for a few weeks now, and we know a little more about his draft.

And unsurprisingly, it’s not the GM who is behind this decision…

Author of a better game in Summer League this Wednesday, Bronny James still seems very far from the NBA level.

He could play a few games with the Lakers, but there is no doubt that he will spend the majority of his season in the G-League, which will allow him to progress and reach his potential, whatever it may be.

The Man Behind Bronny James’ Lakers Hire

Perhaps Bronny should have spent several more years in high school, but the player’s clan decided otherwise, in part to allow him to play with his father in the NBA.

The Lakers always wanted to draft him, even if the decision was not necessarily unanimous behind the scenes.

Rich Paul, Bronny and LeBron’s agent, confirms that the ownership intervened.

Rich Paul : “Jeanie Buss made the decision, and she’s had the opportunity to get to know Bronny really well, not just the basketball aspect of it, but the person as well.

He’s a great fit for the Lakers brand. You have to be able to make those decisions. At the end of the day, we’re not going to spend too much time talking about that. Bronny’s going to have to find his way, and he’s going to.”

Were Rob Pelinka and JJ Redick in favor of this draft? Maybe, but the fact that Jeanie Buss got involved shows that the decision was not unanimous within the front office. As for the reason for this draft, the reason seems obvious.

She drafted Bronny to keep LeBron. It’s obvious

The owner himself had to get involved for the Lakers to draft Bronny James. That says a lot about Rob Pelinka’s will, who may not have been a fan. He’s going to have to own up to that decision now.
