If his work in the gym is an indication of anything, Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White is about to go off in his first year as the team’s RB1.

The Raiders allowed 2022 rushing champion Josh Jacobs to walk to free agency, and he wound up signing with the Green Bay Packers. That opened the door for Zamir White, the Raiders’ 2022 fourth-round pick, to slot in as the new starting running back.

On his Instagram story, White shared a selfie in the gym. And let’s just say this man looks more built to be a linebacker or defensive end than a running back, a thought that should terrify the rest of the league:

Zamir White is listed at 215 pounds on the Raiders’ official team website. But let’s assume that it hasn’t been updated, because he looks a lot closer to 247-pound beast Derrick Henry in this photo.

The Georgia product was drafted 122nd overall by the Raiders in 2022. After seeing just 17 carries for 40 yards in his rookie year, Zamir White got extended playing time as Jacobs’ understudy.

The 24-year-old White had 451 rushing yards, one touchdown and 15 receptions for 98 yards in 17 games last season. The No. 2 RB on the depth chart is Alexander Mattison, whom the Raiders signed following his release from the Minnesota Vikings.

A Monster Season Awaits Zamir White

If the Raiders didn’t believe in Zamir White, they would have either re-signed Josh Jacobs or brought in additional running back help via free agency or the draft.

Las Vegas will once again look to pound the rock in 2024 as they maneuver around a questionable quarterback situation with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew II. Playing behind one of the league’s top run-blocking units, White should have a nice breakout campaign in Sin City.
