Ezekiel Elliott averaged 38 yards per game last season with the Patriots.
Skip Bayless, the famous Dallas Cowboys fanatic who hardly spoke badly about his team, seems to have been quite blunt for them, especially owner Jerry Jones.
This offseason, Jones being the head of decision-making, attracted intense criticism and scrutiny from fans as well as analysts. And Bayless’ new allegations against them are just another proof of that.
For better context, as the Cowboys didn’t draft any running backs despite having a crisis of RBs, they brought back Ezekiel Elliott after just one year of releasing him. The running back spent six seasons with the Cowboys and was an integral part of the team’s offseason. The only reason Dallas put forward his departure was their need to have more flexibility.
Though Elliot’s return has lightened a ray of hope in the fans’ eyes, sports analyst Bayless thinks otherwise. All he knew was that the move by the Cowboys was nothing but a damage-control tactic, or in his language, “PR move,” as he asserted on the recent episode of “Undisputed.”
Clearly Jerry Jones and company announced this today to try to ease the pain over his not being able to land a single running back in the seven rounds of the draft. So it was a PR move to placate Cowboy Nation. Zekke’s back.Asserted Bayless
Jones started the offseason saying they are “all-in” for next season. However, the franchise’s actions so far have been quite controversial. And as Bayless highlighted, having Elliot back is surely good news for the team.
Skip Bayless casts doubt on Ezekiel Elliott’s comeback
Unfortunately, Bayless not only believes this to be a PR move but also has minute expectations with the returned running back. While talking about Elliot, the sports analyst also pulled up his record and highlighted that he isn’t in his prime anymore.

Would you believe that Zeke Elliott, in his eight NFL seasons has gone down in yards per game every single season that's hard to do, but he's done it.Added Bayless
He argued his point by showcasing Zeke’s record from the New England Patriots, where he averaged 38 yards per game.
Though the Cowboys have signed him just for one year, it appears that for an extension, the running back really has to prove himself on the football field, just like other Cowboys players are hanging on the hope of an extension.
