Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game last season.

“He’s a winner,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni showers huge praises on 49ers QB Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan ahead of much-anticipated matchup between the two teams

The Philadelphia Eagles have played some of the top NFL teams in their recent run of games. They have already beaten the Dallas Cowboys, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Buffalo Bills. However, their biggest test is just around the corner in the form of the San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles and the Niners will face off at the Lincoln Financial Stadium this weekend on Sunday.

The Eagles hold the best record in the league this season with 10 wins and just one loss. The Niners on the other hand are 8-3 and are on a three-game winning streak. Both these teams met each other in the NFC Championship game last year. The Eagles took the win that night.

Since then, there has been a lot of trash talk between these two teams. However, there is also a lot of respect as Eagles’ head coach Nick Sirianni praised Niners’ QB Brock Purdy ahead of their big game on Sunday.

I think he's a winner, and that goes back to -- obviously, I played with his college coach and a bunch of guys that were on that staff.

The Eagles coach further said:

He's a winner and just continues to win. I think you saw that all last year, and also what he's doing this year. I think he's got good athleticism, I think he knows where to go with the football in a timely fashion, and I think he is accurate going there. Again, I just think the guy is a winner, and I have a lot of respect for him, and you can see that on tape.

Purdy has been great this season. He has thrown for 2,871 yards and 19 touchdowns with just 6 interceptions so far this season. He has a passer rating of 112.3 and has completed 70.2 percent of his passes.

Nick Sirianni had high praise for Kyle Shanahan as well

The Eagles’ HC Nick Sirianni had huge praise for his counterpart, San Francisco 49ers’ HC Kyle Shanahan, ahead of their matchup on Sunday. The Eagles and the Niners game is one of the most highly anticipated games this season. Sirianni detailed why Shanahan is such an elite offensive mind in the league.

He's been really good at it for a long time--I think he does a really good job, as I watch, meshing his system together. There are things that look alike that -- you know, one thing looks like this and it's a play-action pass or a shot or a run, and they all marry together really good. He's an outstanding coach.

The Eagles reached the Super Bowl last season, but fell at the last hurdle against the eventual champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. They defeated the Niners to reach the Super Bowl as San Francisco was marred by injuries during the NFC Championship game. The 49ers will look to take revenge against the Eagles on Sunday.
