Eminem once fumbled the lyrics to ‘Stan’ in front of a massive crowd of 35,000 people.
He’s performed it enough…
Eminem has had some major tunes since he hit the charts with ‘The Real Slim Shady’ back in 1999.
With one of the most recognisable rap voices in the world, people have spent a lot of time learning to the lyrics to his songs, with ‘Stan’ being one of the most popular.
Released in 2000 as the third single off the Marshall Mathers LP, it went to number one in eleven countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland and Australia.

It sampled Dido’s song ‘Thank You’, as Eminem rapped from the perspective of a fan who was obsessed with him.
The word ‘Stan’ even made its way into the Oxford English Dictionary, being defined as: “An overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity – ‘he has millions of Stans who are obsessed with him and call him a rap god.‘”
Point being, it’s a popular song.
However that didn’t stop Em messing up the lyrics recently in Scotland’s Bellahouston Park on Thursday night, in front of 35,000 fans.
Eminem messes up the lyrics during ‘Stan’ :joy::joy: •
He raps, as per: “I read about your Uncle Ronnie too, I’m sorry. I had a friend kill himself over some bitch who didn’t want him,” before fumbling the next line and saying: “Ahhh, we gotta run that back.”
He eventually composes himself, picking the song up just before the chorus: “I like the shit you did with Rawkus too, that shit was phat. Anyways, I hope you get this, man, hit me back, just to chat, truly yours, your biggest fan, this is Stan.”
‘Stan’ originally appeared on Marshall Mathers LP in 1999, and then again on Curtain Call: The Hits, a compilation record of Eminem’s biggest hits.
The record went on to become the longest charting hip-hop album in the history of the Billboard 200.
The album, released in 2005 when Eminem was 32-years-old, went in at number one and has since gone on to chart for 350 weeks.
It featured classics such as ‘The Way I Am’, ‘My Name Is’, ‘Stan’, and ‘Lose Yourself’, as well as new tracks like fan favourite ‘Fack’, ‘Shake That’ and the single ‘When I’m Gone’.

At the time it was his seventh released album, and clocked sales over nearly four million in the US, and almost two million in the UK.
Curtain Call currently sits ninth on the charts history list, with Nevermind by Nirvana and the Guns N’ Roses Greatest Hits album sitting just above with 371 weeks, and 408 weeks in the charts respectively.
Miles out in front at the top though is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon, which, since its release in 1973 has spent an incredible 931 weeks on the Billboard 200.
In second, just to show how out-in-front Pink Floyd are, is Johnny’s Greatest Hits by Johnny Mathis which ‘only’ spent 490 weeks charting.
